Name & Next is My New Surname’s online name-change service. The paid workspace brings together applicable official forms and services, preparation, relevant fees, useful next steps and progress. You can see a preview of the work that fits before deciding, or confirm fit and purchase Name & Next. You fill in, sign and submit applications, or complete the official online process. My New Surname does not print or mail applications, submit updates for you, or provide legal advice.

Name & Next builds a project around your state, relevant records, circumstances and reported progress. It brings the official materials, preparation and next steps together, including useful guidance for employer, financial and insurance updates. Some services also fill in selected forms or send printed materials. Those can be useful if that is the work you want handled; Name & Next does not provide either.

Name & Next provides access to relevant official forms and services, with preparation and fee guidance. Where the agency’s published instructions leave a requirement unclear, we explain what to confirm and provide the official contact instead of choosing a form or fee for you. When an unanswered condition affects the choice, the workspace asks you to resolve it before treating a route as selected. Official forms are available free from their issuing agencies. MNS does not fill in your application or collect the identity information you enter on it.

Yes, if your planned situation fits the supported service. You can buy now, prepare what you can and return after the wedding without buying again. Your wedding date is optional. Your plan keeps preparation separate from official updates that need a recorded marriage or other completed steps.

Yes, within the supported post-marriage scenario. Include the relevant records even if you have already updated some of them, then record completed or waiting work. Your workspace uses that progress to help you find what remains useful. You do not need to start every update again.

Start with the marriage proof each office or institution accepts. Then check your state’s instructions for Social Security and your license or ID. Some updates need an earlier step completed; others can happen separately. Passport, vehicle, voter, employer, bank, and insurance records each have their own requirements. Your plan shows what needs to happen first where the official guidance supports it.

The timing depends on agency processing, available appointments, document delivery, upcoming travel, and how many accounts you need to update. Your plan points out what needs to happen first and links to current official guidance, so you can plan around those separate timelines. It does not promise a completion date.

Check your state’s published instructions. Some covered states require or recommend updating Social Security first; others do not publish a waiting period we can verify. Nevada requires Social Security first and says electronic verification may take two or more business days. Follow the note for your state before planning the DMV visit.

Start by comparing the name on your booking with the travel document you will use. Read the current passport and carrier guidance, and check the processing options before submitting a document. Whether to act before or after the trip depends on your itinerary. Your plan flags the timing decision so you can check it before acting.

Franklin County’s Clerk of Courts says a title name change requires an ownership change or a court order. A marriage name change alone does not meet that published rule. Ask your county title office what applies to your title. Your driver’s license and registration have separate update processes.

No. Name & Next has one payment and no recurring subscription charge. Name Day includes that same complete product, with nothing more for the recipient to pay MNS. Government and institution fees are separate.

No. My New Surname explains what to prepare but does not collect your Social Security number, passport number, driver-license number, financial account numbers or identity-document uploads. You supply identity information directly to the agency or institution. Payment, gifting and optional service actions have their own data handling, explained in our privacy policy.

Your project stays in this browser unless you choose Save your project. Optional saving lets you return on another device after verifying ownership. Saving is not required to use Name & Next. Purchase recovery restores paid access; project recovery restores only work you chose to save. Unsaved local work can be lost if you clear browser data or end a private-browsing session.

Yes. Send support your receipt at support@mynewsurname.com. Once the purchase is verified, support can restore paid access on another browser. Purchase recovery cannot recreate unsaved answers or progress. If you chose Save your project, recover that saved work separately after verifying ownership.

After saving your plan online, you can choose one email to help you return. The suggested timing is one week after your wedding date, around 10 a.m. in the time zone you confirm. You can choose a different date or cancel. This does not sign you up for marketing. If your plans change, update your saved date whenever you are ready. Your date never tells us that the wedding has happened.
