How to change your name after marriage in Indiana
Your state’s instructions
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles states that before going to the BMV you must first update your name with the Social Security Administration, and wait at least one business day after completing that change before visiting the BMV.
Passport, vehicle, and voter records follow their own current instructions rather than one universal order.
