How to change your name after marriage in Nevada
Your state’s instructions
The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles states that you must change your name with the Social Security Administration before you may change it on your license or ID card, that it verifies your information with Social Security electronically, and that it may take two or more business days after your Social Security update before the DMV can verify it.

Nevada marriage certificates are filed in the county where the marriage took place, with the County Clerk in Clark County and the County Recorder in other counties. If you married in Nevada but live elsewhere, order certified copies from that county and follow your home state’s plan.
